The content marketing community for human-centred business owners

Somehow, another week has gone by, and you still haven’t written or recorded anything.

You’ve got the best of intentions. Yet you’re stuck.

You tell yourself you haven’t got time.

You tell yourself you’ve got nothing to say.

You tell yourself there are so many others doing what you do, what’s the point?

You tell yourself no-one will see it anyway (and at the same time the thought of thousands of people looking at your work terrifies you).

Marketing doesn’t have to feel icky or stressful.

Rachel’s Writing Club is all about ethical marketing, sharing content people want to read or watch, and building a business on your own terms.

It’s calm, friendly, thought-provoking, and sometimes whimsical.

I’m an award-winning journalist and blogger, and I’ve been writing professionally for more than 25 years. My focus has always been on communities and sharing information that helps people understand the world around them.

I run three blogs, write a regular newsletter called The Sunday Edition and publish a quarterly magazine.

I used to be digital editor for a daily newspaper and have been building websites since I was a teenager. So I have plenty of experience and practical tips to share with you.

Over the years, I’ve worked with lots of business owners 1:1 and in workshops. They get stuck on the same things: lack of time, too many ideas, and not being sure where to start.

I wanted to help coaches and consultants get past these barriers because content marketing brings so many benefits. It enables people get to know you, it answers potential clients’ questions, and it’s working for you even when you’re on holiday. That’s why I created the Club.

Everything I do in the Club is inclusive, friendly, and practical, so come and join us!

Monday Marketing Mojo: spark, connect, write

I give you a prompt.
Then we go into breakout rooms and you’ll have a chat about it with another member of the Club.
You’ll come back into the room. I’ll check in with you to see if you have any questions, and then you put yourself on mute and you write.

Blogging write-alongs: develop a bank of articles

Get past the blank page in these practical guided workshops.

I walk you through one of six essential types of blog post. You follow the prompts, and at the end of the session, you have a blog post ready to go.

Email marketing sessions: build your list

Make it easier to get your email newsletter published by writing it with other people.

Each week we talk through an issue to do with email marketing from tech to content, and then we go on mute and work on our emails.

Q&A sessions + coworking: get unstuck

Content marketing involves lots of moving parts. What to write, where to write, what to do with it afterwards…

Bring your questions about blogging, sales pages, websites, social media, and storytelling along and then stay on the call afterwards to do some writing.

Quarterly planning sessions: link your content marketing to your business goals

There’s no point creating content for the sake of it.

Every three months we run a content planning session during Monday Marketing Mojo so you can look at where you’re going, and what content you need to support your work.

It gives you walkthroughs for 6 essential types of blog post as well as tips on writing introductions, making the most of your blog posts, and getting started with SEO.

Additional elements connected by curved arrows include: 'My brilliant writing course' indicating a laptop displaying an online course interface with an instructor; '6 fill in the blanks workbooks' pointing to printed workbooks; and 'Coworking with me during Write Here, Write Now' showing Rachel with pink hair working at a computer. Who is this for?

Service-based business owners who serve other businesses and want dedicated time to write. You probably keep meaning to write but it always gets bumped because of client work. You might also be looking for advice on what to write and what to do with your material once you’ve written it.

What happens when I join?

You’ll get an email with all the details about Rachel’s Writing Club, including a link to the event calendar, and your login for the Clubhouse and my brilliant writing course, which are hosted on my course platform.

Monday Marketing Mojo generally takes place on Mondays from 12pm to 1pm GMT.

I send an email each month setting out what is happening, with dates and times for the sessions.

You don’t run events during school holidays, what happens in August?

I run a summer project to help you get set for September and send you an email each Monday instead of running a live session. You’ll get access to my Summertime Visibility mini-course and you have my brilliant writing course to work through.

What happens on Bank Holidays?

If there is a public holiday in England on a Monday during term time, I usually move Monday Marketing Mojo to Tuesday that week.

Are the sessions recorded?

Most of the sessions are run live and are not recorded. The sessions are designed so you can drop in and write something relevant to your business. If you miss a week, there’ll be something just as good the following week. Occasionally, I will record a one-off workshop and put the recording in the Clubhouse.

I’d like 1:1 feedback on my writing and strategic support, is that available through the Club?

You’re welcome to ask questions during the sessions but I don’t offer copy reviews in the Club. I do offer 1:1 writing coaching as a separate service. Get in touch with me about what you’re looking for, whether you’re working on a launch, a book, or want more help with writing for your business regularly.
