Hi, I’m Rachel

I’m here to help you get past that blank page

Writing can be a lonely business. You, the blinking cursor on the screen, your mindset monkeys arguing over what to write…

It doesn’t have to be that way.

I created Rachel’s Writing Club because I kept meeting up with business friends who would tell me they wanted to write but for some reason, the blog posts didn’t materialise.

There are a few reasons why this happens:

  • You might have lots of ideas jostling for attention
  • You might be thinking that you need to write something REALLY long for it to ‘count’
  • You might log on to social media and see a load of posts from other people who also do what you do, and think: ‘what’s the point?’
  • You might find that you sit down to write with good intentions and then your brain wants to do absolutely anything else, from watching reels to going and cleaning out cupboards.

Rachel’s Writing Club gives you a topic to write on, people to talk it through with, and time to get the writing done.

It takes the stress out of showing up and makes it easy to talk about yourself and what you do without feeling awkward.

Why write with me

I’m an award-winning journalist and blogger who loves to talk about ideas.

I’ve written thousands of articles, trained journalists, and developed a step-by-step process to help you write about your business in a way that’s interesting to the people you want to serve.

I’m friendly, practical and inclusive.

You’re always welcome to ask questions. Whether you’re stuck, wondering where to start, or confused about tech, perplexed by platforms, or shy about sharing something.

My business is called The Story Cave in homage to how humans have shared stories with each other and on walls for millennia. Whenever I picture The Story Cave, it’s warm and inviting. There are plush sofas. Books line the walls. There’s a bar where you can enjoy the gin of your choice or a really good hot chocolate. People are having conversations about all kinds of topics from copywriting to climate change, what they are reading to research. It’s a place to kick back and talk about what you want to say.

We have great conversations during our Monday Marketing Mojo sessions. And you’ll write about your business too. It’s a really good way to start your week.

My values

  • Empathy – we’re all different and I’m here to support you whatever stage you are at with your writing, or your business
  • I stand for individuality – you are unique. No-one else has your blend of experience, interests, personality, or knowledge.
  • I’m a cheerleader who wants you to succeed – my focus is on giving you the skills to do the work yourself long-term without relying on me. I delight in the success of others.
  • I support the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) and give 1% of all payments to efforts to tackle climate breakdown.
